This returns policy outlines the terms and conditions for the return, refund, and replacement of goods purchased on our website. 1. Eligibility for Returns

  • Timeframe: You may return eligible items within 10 days of receiving your order.
  • Condition: Products must be unopened, unused, and in their original packaging. Items that are opened or used will not be eligible for return unless found defective.
  • Product-Specific Exceptions: Due to health and safety standards, perishable goods (e.g., baking ingredients) are generally non-returnable. However, items with visible defects or damage upon arrival may be eligible for a refund or replacement.

2. Defective or Damaged Items

  • Reporting Damage: If a product is damaged or defective, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving the product. Claims reported after this timeframe may not be eligible for returns.
  • Proof of Defect: To process a claim, provide clear photos of the damaged item and packaging. Modaks reserves the right to assess the nature of the defect before approving a return.
  • Resolution Options: For verified defects, you can choose between a replacement, exchange, or refund. Modaks will cover the return shipping cost for defective or damaged items.

3. Non-Returnable Items

  • The following items are final sale and non-returnable, except if defective:
    • Perishable goods (unless damaged upon arrival)
    • Customized or personalized items
    • Items marked “final sale” at purchase

4. Return Process

  • Contact Us: Initiate a return by contacting our support team at info@jamfoods.co.za or calling us at 011 857 1534. Include your order number, the reason for the return, and any supporting photos if applicable.
  • Approval & Shipping: Upon approval, we will provide instructions for return shipping. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless otherwise stated.
  • Return Address: Returns should be shipped to the address provided in the return instructions.

5. Refunds and Processing Time

  • Processing Refunds: Approved refunds will be processed within 7-10 business days after receiving and inspecting the returned item.
  • Refund Amount: Refunds will cover the original cost of the product, excluding shipping fees. In cases where the product is defective, shipping fees may be refunded as well.
  • Form of Refund: Refunds will be credited back to the original payment method used during purchase.

6. Exchanges

  • Exchanges for a different product are allowed within the return period if the item is eligible for return. Please initiate the exchange process by contacting our support team as outlined above.

7. Compliance with Consumer Protection Act (CPA)

  • This policy complies with the South African Consumer Protection Act. Under the CPA, you are entitled to a full refund, exchange, or repair for defective goods within six months of purchase, should the defect arise through no fault of the consumer.
